trading was mostly done at 16 with a touch of 17.
Think of it this way
people paid 16 cents all day for an apple today, the last one in the tray went for 15c and Con the fruiter closed up for the day.
Tomorrow he opens up and apples are 16 or 17 cents when the shop opens again... not the last bargain worm-ridden apple price of 15
(this is a bit more complex as oil and US could fk it up but anyhow)
