Colinchi, you may remember some years ago battery powered power tools came onto the market [do you own one?]. Sceptics said these things will be useless, and who will have time to charge them. Fast forward to today, and now you would be hard pressed to find a builder or a handyman that doesn't use cordless tools on a regular basis. Same thing is now happening with gardening equipment and some household appliances.
Its only a matter of time and the EV revolution will take over. In Australia, I see real difficulties in mass uptakes of passenger vehicles for some time, mainly due to our grid power supply. China, Europe and other counties with suitable grid power will see huge adoption in the near term.
I live in the country, have 40 solar panels on the shed roof and I'm waiting for Govt. subsidies on battery packs [ah-ha, another use of lithium]. When this happens and the price of EV's comes down I will definitely buy one.
