Lucía Corpacci highlighted the strong mining investment in Catamarca

The governor of Catamarca, Lucía Corpacci participated in the opening of the III International Seminar on Metals Minerals that took place between yesterday and today in Buenos Aires and brings together representatives of embassies, mining businessmen, suppliers, national officials and other provinces, educational sector, among others.
Accompanying Corpacci the mining secretary and president of Cofemin, Rodolfo Micone; the president of Camyen, José Barros and provincial representatives in mining companies. The Secretary of Mining of the Nation, Carolina Sánchez, also participated in the event.
In this context Corpacci stressed, first, that it is positive that the mining sector meets to discuss and include other sectors that do the activity and highlighted that today in Catamarca there is a strong mining investment and cited the example of Livent ( former FMC Minera del Altiplano) that "made the decision to invest to expand its plant and produce 17 thousand tons of lithium to 50 thousand tons by the end of 2020. On the other hand, there is another company in our province that is exploring lithium and will start the construction of its plant and another mining company, which is advancing its process and we already had some conversations with its investor, is to see if it can start soon to build the lithium plant and I think Catamarca in that sense has shown that You can work with mining. "
Coparcci also requested in national terms the support of the Nation, arguing that "we strongly need the support of the national government, alone (the provinces) we can not".
For his part, Rodolfo Micone highlighted the participation of the provinces in the mining activity, "it is important that the subnational states are part of the mining policy of Argentina, it is the path that we must continue giving participation to those who own their resources (the provinces) ". In this context he stressed that "the scope of debate is the Cofemin to have a mining model of country agreed among all its actors," he said.
