Whether you "think" you trust them or not is irrelevant. The act of investing in the company is putting trust in them to do the right thing by your cash.
In the same way if you handed a homeless man on the street $20,000 cash and trusted him to hold it for you for a while. You have put your trust in him. If you don't trust him, don't hand it to him in the first place.
Pretty dumb to hand over that cash without any trust imo... But whatever floats your boat.
