No it does not help with stopping shares being available for shorting.
If anything it helps create appearance of selling pressure.
It's what shorters do, stack up bunch of sell orders high up the que that won't execute; to create appearance of more selling pressure than there is.
Masters of 'shooting yourself in a foot' recommend doing that on HC.
