Just arrived and read Matt's article. We all know about the supply - demand dynamics for lithium chemicals and he is spot on.
In the 2020 pilot run ( pre ion-exchange, which was what Matt was referring to ), Ca and Mg impurity levels were outside of battery-grade specification.
In the 2021 pilot run ( with ion-exchange ), Ca and Mg impurity levels are now within battery-grade specification.
"Samples have been dispatched to top tier chemicals and electric vehicles (EV) manufacturers for testing."
I also updated my own listing of impurity levels that I can find that are publicly available :
The more green and yellow, the better.
