The total reported shorts are more than the total retail holders. Technically the short postions cannot be covered unless all retailers plus some institutions sell. This is not going to happen.
The lenders cannot sell, their shares are frozen through lending. Institutions will not reduce their holdings, they know the growth story in EVs. Thats why they hold 80% plus.

Going forward shorts have to buy from other shorts. Hold on to your shares and watch the short death spiral.
A performance like today is shorts trying to bring out other Shorts, to buy from them, in order to get out. Retailers worry because they don't understand. There are not enough shares on market for sale.
The assets are worth more than the SP, any buying will cause a spike. Shorts have run out of shares, they must push down on low volume to stay solvent.
The end desperation. The outcome is certain, SP will more than double. Get over your fears and think.
