Anyway if they borrow 25K or even 50K shares each and go short, its not enough to do anything. And their stops would be very tight cos they would have to consider the margin calls.
Its too late for retail shorters as Morgan Stanley has changed its stance and upgraded the SP twice.
When retail shorts start shorting the SP usually reached bottom, and MS is just buying up their shorts to cover their own positions.

I know a lot of long term holders (especially the top 100) here have much deeper pockets than retail shorts just starting out. Retail shorts just become bait for the sharks.
