There is going to be a major shortage.
The current world supply is around 250000t of LCE for all usage.
The top LCE producers have been able to increase around 20% over four years.
Tesla at current rate of production will require around 36200t for their two size batteries of 75 and 100kwh.
VW projected production in two years plus Tesla is nearly around 50-75% of current world production. Now add every other autos you can think of.

5-10 advanced spodumene. Very high grade.
65-80 technical carbonate
85 battery carbonate
90 battery hydroxide
95 anode and cathodes. 100 battery.
The over supply story is a twisted reality.
Hydroxide battery makers were buying technical carbonate at 80 as a feed stock because it was closer to the end process than starting with spodumene.
Spodumene is being bought because conversion to carbonate and hydroxide is where profit lies as a producer of lithium chemicals.
The Chinese mines produce large quantity of technical grade at 65, expecting the 80 mark pricing. Hydroxide makers reduced their buying or paid only for what its worth. Low quality equal low price. MS and Mcbank, now ORE use this reduce price as an excuse for their over supply story. As a result move the market in the direction they want for their purpose.
This apply to all lithium stocks.
The SP has no connection with the reality. Lithium stocks are being shorted on a myth to take wary investors shares at a cheap price.
When this reality sinks in many will have lost and many stand to make hugh sums.
