Tesla has gone away from aluminum intensive body-in-white (Model S and X) to a more conventional steel approach on Model 3 - also due to cost. The only benefit which persists is performance, which you could compensate by larger motors.

Why would it be a bad thing for lithium stocks?!

The QuantumsScape technology proposes using lithium anodes...should see MORE demand for lithium.

though from what I have read, lithium metal batteries favour lithium carbonate from brine for cheaper production so it may be good for Sal De Vida, not so good for PLS, AJM, MIN etc.

and even your article says not to expect anything until 2025, then you need the ramp up, the factories, the manufacturing transition.

Correction, metal batteries favour lithium from Hydroxite hard rock. Reason that major players stop investing in Brine and shift to hard rock mines. eg SQM. Very good for PLS, AJM, MIN etc Not so good for Sal De Vida.
