The SP down is mainly due to shorting on false information.
Its already hard to get fundings for those that are producing. Those not producing or don't have contracts to produce will not have funding to start.
China wants to lead the the EV revolution, problem is, their internal EVs have around 200km range. Outside of china, the range demand is for 400-600km. The government want to change this, not just quantity but quality. Remember those laptops and phones that set itself on fire. Chinese cars are setting themselves on fire when charging.
The local real estate agent was a car dealer and born in Shenzhen, gives me updates. The railway tracks are solar powered.
A chemical company I worked for over a decade, had three raw materials supply locations. Germany, Japan and Asia( range of countries). The chemicals would start the same, the end product would always be different. The german way above spec, the Japanese slightly over spec and Asian always below spec. The impurities change the final product.
The maga factories capacity is not their production output. The chemicals are not there.
This company has 407m shares. Currently there's 16..36% shorts. Over the last four days maybe around 17%. Lets just take 16.5%.
407mil × 16.5%= 67155000 units. Every 1c up, shorts around $671500 in the red. They are throwing hundreds / thousands of trades to keep this down. Retailers are waking up to the oversupply myth and starting to buy again. More are looking at EVs and lithium companies to invest.
Batteries are good for over ten years, so don't expect supply to come from recycling. If china doesn't pay the right price for chemicals, other countries will buy and china will lose the supply chain. Once a supply contract is lost, its very hard to get back. The 2025 target is flawed because every auto maker will want to get in before the other. It takes three years to a design a new ICE engine, electronics change/ upgrade every six months, there's no comparison. Evs retain their value due to the batteries and ICEs go to the wreckers. There's no point buying new ICEs, people will keep the existing or buy used before going to EVs. The neighbor's house light up like a Christmas tree, they've been off grid for fifteen years, 20km from Melbourne CBD. You think it can't happen, good luck.
