Just waiting in line at the Shenzhen Shangri-la Hotel for a taxi, and would you believe it, but the 1st cab that rolls up is an old gas guzzler, followed promptly by four blue and white electric BYD’s. I told the hotel guy I wanted electric and he laughed, nodded his head, apologised to the 1st cabbie who must have been the last ICE dude in Shenzhen, and then opened the door to the 2nd cab in the rank explaining I wanted electric. We were all laughing......and nodding! The electric BYDs are everywhere. I wonder when Hong Kong is gonna ditch those old Toyota Crown ICE Comforts for some new BYD’s. And DeFaucon’s right - Model S and X Teslas are everywhere in Hong Kong and there’s a nice blue Model 3 sitting in the Tesla glass-front showroom for all the passers-by to see.
