That is the wrong question. The question is: would you be willing to pay three times as much for the "fuel" strictly on your long haul trips in order to a) maintain an auxiliary fuel source and b) effect a large reduction in your upfront vehicle cost (due to replacing part of the battery pack with HFC and tank)? The fact is for most this will become the standard and completely alleviate range anxiety or extended charging regimes associated with BEV's. The lithium battery packs will be designed to cover the daily commute while HFC will fuel extended trips while also giving drivers a greater sense of confidence when on the road. Just my view, chalk it up to good old fashioned common sense.
