    Tesla have been in discussion with Galaxy. They may also have been discussing with many others as well. Better not jump to conclusions. Panasonic have stated, if model y go into production, there will not be enough batteries. Then, there is pickup and semi.
    There is currently not enough man power, time and chemicals to fill the battery orders.
    The future is electric, the Norwegian wealth fund, largest in the world is moving away from fossil fuel.

    Where do you think they'll be investing?

    Why is china investing in mines if price for chemicals are low? Chemical producers make small profit but the battery makers profits are high. Both are state controlled. China doesn't lose, the world miners do. Then they go shopping.

    Galaxy have 400m but there is a tax component. The net cash is equal to 5 years of net production in a low price environment. If everything was mothballed, the interest would be enough for a maintenance skeleton staff. How many peers can afford that?

    The hundreds of billions already invested in EV infrastructure depend on chemicals and the mine producers. They will not be abandoned.
    Those that short EV related companies are linked to $3.4 trillion industries facing fall in demand for their products. The horse breeders and farriers are fighting desperately.
    There's an EV mustang by the way instead of ICE cough cough.

    ALB/ Tianqi cannot sell LCE below 14k from greenbushes and make a profit.

    EVS are the only way china can enter European/ north American markets against the existing autos. The shorting is to obtain free cash to reinvest in the EV chain, push out retail investors.
    Look at the actions of management not at what they say.

    Not all spodumenes are equal. Not all chemicals are equal. There is technical carbonate at 99.5% and there is battery grade carbonate 99.5%. There is up to 2k$ cost to convert technical to battery grade.
