You conveniently ignored the part about cost parity.
How convenient.
When cost parity arrives, almost no-one will want to buy and ICE vehicle anymore. What would 99% of people, who don’t drive anywhere near the 100’s of kilometres of EV range per day, and can easily and cheaply charge overnight at home, want with an ICE dinosaur that is MORE expensive to own????
Yes, you can keep your ICE if you need to tow your 11,000 lb boat around. You and the 36 others.
It’s coming Colin. It’s coming!
How many new EV models coming out within 3-5 years? Hundreds.
When is purchase price parity forecast? 2022 in Europe.
What does a battery pack cost Colin?
Tesla are fast approaching $100/kWh PACK costs. That’s soon to be $7,000 for the battery pack of their typical range vehicle (70 kWh pack).
That’s $10,000 for a 100 kWh (top size) pack.
What do the motors cost? Far far less than an ICE!!’
Will you still be beating this drum when the “affordable” EVs arrive over the next few years, you know, the $30-$40k models from VW And many others..?
Surely YOU are only joking!!!???
