@acwbagnall, there's no doubt EVs will replace ICEs. There's a battery supply shortage, 12-18 month waiting list. Australian miners not producing, Alb and SqM not increasing. Where are the chemicals coming from? 70% of materials are imported and 30% china domestic supply is technical. Europe, korea, Japan and America are struggling to get supply. Something doesn't add up. The only logical thing is, the chinese are not buying to lower prices. They are not selling to other countries in order to export in their own brand of vehicles. The chinese invested in ajm, a40,pls , min and made offer for gxy. This would not be the case if there is oversupply. China, European and American policy makers are all gearing for supply, more than the available mines can produce. The producing mines are getting attacked, the non producers are not. The convertors are also upgrading for higher volume. The cathode/anode maker ( posco) can't get supply. The chinese battery makers are going gangbusters.
