They came up with a solution called ethanol. Large areas of forrest in the US and the amazon was cleared. The trees for timber, the land for corn and soybeans. The lungs and air conditioners of the world were cut down. The oil kept coming. Fifteen years ago along came clean diesel. Its now called diesel gate. The solution to a better ICE was to add more cylinders and more fuel. To reduce the fuel was to use turbo. They've run out of ideas.
Elon came along and decided to use a nuclear reactor called the sun. The result is battery storage. Primary children are learning and governments are creating policies around it. EVs are not going away. If the ICE makers are not on board, they will disappear

VW is aiming for 150 kwh in Europe and 150kwh in Asia by 2025. Using tesla 70kwh for 63kg LCE, an average for future range.
150 ×0.9= 135kt LCE ×2= 270kt LCE. By 2025
270kt is the total volume of LCE for all usages 2018. In 2030 the number is to double. Its just VW. Tesla is currently using 22kt at 25kwh capacity from it 35kwh T1.

Brine is not about ponds. Its the salt from the brine containing lithium ions. In a salt water aquarium , the salt forms on the edges, salt is suspended in water and always try to leave. The salt leaves so much , salt has to be added to keep fish alive. If there is a technology that increase this process, no point using evaporation ponds.

There are different tiers( quality) of batteries. There are different quality level of chemicals that go into those batteries. 5,10,15,20 year lifespan. Different prices for different quality.
