FUD:

"Spod price will always be under pressure
To keep battery costs down."



FACTS:

Cost of LCE in a typical EV battery is under $1,000

From the following chart
100 kWh pack cost reduction from
2015-2016 = $8500
2016-2017 = $7400
2017-2018 = $3800


The price of Li can double and the difference (say $1000 to be generous) is eliminated within a single year, due to the other cost reductions associated with battery pack production. In other words, a doubling of the price of Li will not increase the price of a battery pack significantly, and it will be more than offset within months by other cost reductions.
Also, there are other economies of scale and cost reduction trajectories associated with other major elements of EVs, so there are even more ongoing reductions in price that mean that an increase in Li price (50%, 100%, 150%) will effectively not be responsible for "increasing" the price of an EV.
