What I’m hearing here is that the shorters are trading and flipping and flipping and trading.... all trying to make a quick buck, whilst there are likely relatively few that have held long-term short positions... ?
Perhaps a lot of this short trading action has been to actually increase the volatility on the way down, as well as contributing to the overall downward push that 15% or so shorts creates...especially when applied at opportune times to help “convince” the market that, for example, some news is “not” positive as it appears.
The running joke last year was that we’d always drop on “good” news... perhaps it’s just the
Shorters messing with the “market” and creating a picture that suits them, however detached from reality that may be...
