well the baby boomers created the recent history of consumption driven growth and inflation - so if we apply that thinking to now then taking the billion odd Chinese and close to a billion Indians out of poverty so they can consume will create global growth - we will all benefit from it - a small amount of that growth from consumption or asset appreciation will feed into Australia - we need free trade and globalisation. but what direction are we heading in ? fear and paranoia will take us in the opposite direction and we could well miss out.
