They love all the retail bunnies who still think the fundamentals haven't changed, and use them to continue to sell into.
If the shorts don't use tomorrow morning's liquidity event to reduce their position then it's a clear sign they see the price going even lower from current levels. I guess we'll know once the net open shorts data is at hand mid next week.
