It should not be forgotten that a great deal of oil/gas is still needed in the transition phase - however long it lasts. Simply flipping the switch is not an option. i think that the oil companies still have a few profitable years ahead of them. at the same time, the oil multinationals are also involved in renewable energy production, hydrogen...I don't know what Chevron's situation is - I'm more interested in BP, RDS or OMV.
