CXO are planning on using their own platform for spot prices. I agree that it doesn't matter if Tesla sign a deal. To be honest I think the only thing Tesla bring is the hype. It's going to be more about the price it gets. more than likely, it will be tied to a market value +- a percentage. Good chance company won't disclose the price. With the market supply being so tight I wouldn't worry.
As far as timing goes, I believe the time is now if the plant is operational within next 6-8 weeks.
