Hi LT1234, thanks for your comments on my point one. Noted. I previously thought the shares out on loan must be returned by a mutually agreed time frame. It looks like not the case in Australia. In that case, the BEOT can keep shorting the stock as long as they pay the fees/interests and the sp not shooting up too much (which the lender may want the shares back so they can sell for taking profit). I noted also from recent observation, SS usually got in and out very quickly, although they may come back later on to do it a few times.
