Most Governments make policies just with the next 3 years and election in mind, rarely the next few decades. The few big reforming exceptions were Medicare, student HECs, making the Harbour Bridge so many lanes wider than needed in the 1920's. The past 3 decades have been utterly wasted. Copper on the end of every fibre optic cable FFS!
