People who get worked up about any management criticisms need to realise a few things.
- Gareth is a suit who works mainly in an air-conditioned office. He's not in Darwin moving ore.
- The COO, Site Manager, and supervisors, are the ones who deserve the credit for any targets hit or exceeded at Finniss.
- As a suit, and a member of the Board, Gareth's job is to increase shareholders wealth and he can do that right now by:
1) Putting some funds into a buyback, and
2) Countering any false reports by the media and analysts, such as a low price ceiling by reported by some.
- We're not a large or complex operation, so the Company Secretary could easily release an announcement to correct or counter misinformation. In fact, they should have templates of these counters ready to go.
Office culture is never smooth running, and as you know there's a difference between when you interview for a role, and when you actually land the role and work behind the scenes. Understand this, so don't be over-sensitive if a someone raises concerns that's affecting our SP.
And great if you were able to come in under under 5c, but some Jonhnny-come-latelys (I like to come in at development stage) bring millions, and we all keep the SP buoyant.
