The market didn’t catch on because of the announcements, in fact, each announcement was viewed as a chance to sell the news.
It was the cash balance that finally made the fundies and instos admit defeat. Which CXO should have plenty of very soon.
Of course no two situations are completely similar, but this is as similar as it comes.
