Almost inevitable...100 EV companies in China alone...which lithium mine became a producer in Australia in 2023?...NIL...how many new producer will there be in 2024?...1 maybe!
Now i don't know who is manipulating the lithium prices down but the law of supply and demand cannot be broken...the Chinese are masters of price manipulation...currency, economic parameters, property prices etc, but it always end up biting them in the end and the same will happen with lithium prices...you just cannot sugar coat the overwhelming demand for lithium and the enormous lack of supply! The Chinese artificially pumped up the demand for housing to borrow hundreds of billions and flooded the market with new development but suddenly they are facing over supply and default with creditors....so with lithium it's literally the opposite, they massively stockplied lithium to inflate supply against demand and forced down lithium price which stagnated actual development and supply from mines. This will cause a massive supply shortage in the near future and will result in an all time high in lithiun price...the next year or so will show how the Chinese will again shoot themselves in the foot! It will be crazy to short a lithium producer in the coming year so I'm stockpiling CXO
