The reason is something else entirely.
More likely the uncertainty of what will happen to the spot price once market reopens post CNY as another posted, as well as shorters having not much further profit to gain through lower SP given how far its fallen and how low Market Cap is.

SYA also has a large short % and was up 18% today. I guess the difference to PLS which has highest large shortest % of lithium stocks and went down today is that CXO and SYA have fallen substantially further than PLS has.
