Agree Bill
I'm not sure of the nature of the prior contractors work force but if it comprised a lot of FIFO and company can now source more local employment then that would amount to a very significant saving and more than likely get a better employee attitude to boot.
Either way management would not of initiated this action if there weren't benefits now & later and I have a feeling that the wording in the announcement about future restarting may well have had something to do with severing of contractual arrangement.
My opinion.
