I am a LT holder ....but it depends on the substance of the announcement...good announcements in this climate usually overshoot and it could be a series of announcements coming out in short periods after the first announcement...so imo I would not trade it...if you are experienced a good announcement leads to a shortage of stock when trading resumes forcing the price quickly higher and then the momentum subsides and sellers start banking up...could be the time to take a profit but on the other hand experienced hands know how good the announcement is and wait until it becomes quieter perhaps putting in false selling bids to make it look that it is the end of the run and then it remains strong the whole day...ie you have been ambushed to give up your stock...you despair and buy it back later at a higher price...no I am not a day trader and thats their job with all the blowers and whistles.
