On holiday in the NT. Drove out and took a look at the site. More holes than a Bangkok ... Nevermind. Couldn't get any decent photos as I don't have phone/reception for maps and there are a bunch of Lucas People around working on the site.
Not a geologist so no idea what I was looking at, but the two spots we visited seemed rather different. There's hundreds of dirt bags on either side of the highway on the Darwin side of the site (red dust). There's an excavated pit and a few more bags about 200m on the other side of the entryway. This seems a bit different with fewer bags but full of grey sparkly sand/cement looking material.
Looks like Lucas are working weekends which means it's full tilt.
Anyway, off to get a Mai Tai.
