Stage 4 of Grants life is where they use the bottom of the void for holding overflow water from BP33's dewatering processes.
The pit will however be sufficiently deep when finished that they can also use the Grants pit as the access to solid rock below the weaker weathered rock. Grants will perform the equivalent function that the BP33 box cut does - but for Carlton. This will lower the cost to get Carlton operational (if Carlton preserves its current UG mining plan).
