I'm sure many of you will have either tried gold panning or seen video's of it. There's a lot of early work washing away the waste material that you start with. Layer by layer you wash away dirt/rock and can't see much if any gold when doing this just time and effort for at that stage no reward. Its only just at the very end that you can with any luck see the gold. Zara would appear to be the sort that can't see the gold towards the end so tosses the whole pan out and starts again. After a few attempts and no gold, she will declare that there is no gold there. She will then proclaim to anyone who will listen that there is no gold in that location, its a waste of time looking there, try some other location (or bringing this back to Core, other company). All the time, the gold is there just waiting to be found by those with the correct skills to find it.

Reworking AL828 graphic slightly. Core has paid the expense to get the mine down to the white gold dollars. Now they just use the solid rock of the lower levels for steep walls and progressively lower depths to take out lots of ore with not much more waste rock needing to be moved. Hugely profitable mining from this point forward. Hugely expensive to take all the top waste rock (and a bit of ore) out to get to this point.

Happy for you to rework my graphics. You do a better job illustrating and explaining! I agree, mining restart will happen. It's a matter of "when" to maximise profit and "how" as in choosing a contractor who can complete the mining cheaper. This is why all contracts are terminated. It's a reset. When we restart, the market wil be shocked by our new low costs!
