There seems to be some misunderstanding of my earlier bid price analysis.
So I will simplify for what the bid is now as I see it (with AUD/USD exchange rate at 64c).
Actual announced bid price: $8.90
which is comprised of
AUD component of AUD$5.78
USD Component of USD$2.19 - this is about AUD$3.12 at the announce date AUD/USD exchange rate of 70c
.....and AUD$5.78 and AUD$3.12 make up the AUD$8.90 "announced price".
But the AUD component of AUD$5.78 is reduced by the cash value of divs paid (which to date have been 16.5c and 20c), so the current AUD component is: AUD$5.415.
The USD component is unchanged at USD$2.19, but the AUD/USD exchange rate has moved in our favour to about 64c.
The AUD value of the USD bid component is currently about AUD$3.42 (ie 30c higher than at bid announcement time).
So the current cash value of the announced bid is AUD$8.835 (ie $5.415 + $3.42)
Last trade yesterday (ex div) was $8.38 which is 5% less than the bid price.
