That is how it is currently being reported to the media and we have had instances where some companies CEO’s trying to justify their remuneration using that extract phrase.
The general public would get the impression that most of the shareholders voted in favour of resolution when in affect a smaller number of offical holders made up the largest percentage of the votes.
but90%+ ofsharesthat are votedare voted in favour.
Something along those lines wouldn’t be as deceptive ….. probably it could be stated that the resulting outcome were predominantly voted in by the institutions and larger share holders.
