Another recent failure by Treasury is in it drafting the Corp Act to accommodate electronic documentation and voting.
I had an expectation that the Corp Act would make it compulsory to hold a hybrid AGM. Not so!
We basically rely on the goodwill of the T20 to allow us to attend an actual premises.
At a Suncorp AGM, I mentioned to the board, whether they would consider adding to the constitution that AGM’s will be only hybrid.
That it could be only changed if a Federal or State Health Minister deemed it necessary to protect the community health due to a pandemic or epidemic!
The retort was basically trust us!
I’ve already had two companies pulling this stunt, due to their large shareholding on me.
They were reluctant to even have attendees to arrive at their head office!
