One of the reasons people have not noticed yet is because the govt lies to you for political advantage eg the USA jobs stats have just been adjusted downwards by almost 1 million jobs....... So they have been telling you lies for almost a year on a big scale. The illusion of good economic health will try to be maintained up to the next elections. It's the game they play.
