We visit Tassie now and then. We were there in February for a week, funeral. The family had a shack at Boat Harbour for 60 years which they just sold. So we spent a bit of time visiting family, driving around between Wynyard and Launceston - architecture, farmland, beaches, antiques, taking pics of birds.
We did visit Scotland a few years ago. Hubby’s family were from the Highlands, so we visited the actual Croft that his family owned in the 1800s. It’s pretty wild up there, windy...in Winter you have to get on your knees and crawl. I have ancestors from Scotland too, mine were more toward Glasgow...closer to your way in the Isle of Arran (about 20km). It’s all beautiful though, little fishing villages, wild and windy landscapes, castle, farms and beautiful architecture.
If you have not yet travelled to the UK, resolve to do it one day after Covid settles. Travel all around, go everywhere, it’s all good, especially in the countryside. We have been several times. A few years ago, I studied in London for a few months, I had a ball, it was fantastic. I studied at SOAS, so I was in the British Museum every day, and every week we had visiting lecturers and excursions to private Art collections, so much fun. I don’t think I have ever worked so hard in my life, it really opened my eyes about Art investing.
