John 1:33 - And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Spirit.

John 4:24 Spirit the God is....................As there is but One Spirit, this Spirit must be the Holy Spirit.

The God being referenced here, is Jesus's Father, the Almighty God and Father.

Who gave Jesus -> John 12:49 - For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
And these words are -> John 6:63 - It is the spirit that quickeneth (make alive); the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

There is but one Spirit (in this, Bible regards), the Holy,........so that suggests, by Jesus giving the Word = the Word of God to them, he was giving them, the Holy Spirit.
Baptizing them with the word/Holy Spirit.
