20 September 2005 MEDIA RELEASE BARAKA (ASX :BKP) STOCK MARKET ACTIVITY Yesterday the Company responded to a Price Query from the Australian Stock Exchange. It has now come to the Company’s attention that rumors may have been circulating in relation to potential Farm-outs of the Company’s Mali tenements. The Company holds interest in five Production Sharing Agreements covering approximately 193,000 Km² in the Republic of Mali. These areas cover the Taoudeni Basin and adjoin Blocks Ta11 and Ta12 in Mauritania which the Company has already Farmed out to Woodside Petroleum Ltd. Pursuant to the Company’s stated objectives, detailed in its Prospectus dated 30 March 2005, the Company continues to seek Farm-in partners on the Mali properties. We refer investors to the Company’s announcement of 20 May 2005, Presentation Material of 27 July 2005, last Quarterly Report and announcement of 7 September 2005 concerning the Company’s Mali training program and interest of international oil & gas companies in Mali. The Company continues to hold discussions with a number of parties interested in farming into the Mali PSA’s and continues to make its data room available for those parties.
