I'm a holder and a fan but your post contradicts itself. You say profitability isn't important as they are booking a loss, and then say its a "profit making" business.
Freelancer isn't "profitable" - it could be if it cut expenses, but it chooses to invest in growth - so investors will compare its top line numbers to other companies, so they will compare it to similar loss making companies. Some who are doing exactly the same, investing for growth at the expense of profits.
Its not a "profit making" business. But it chooses to be that.
