The new Barite ELA 2016/00134 was applied for on the 8/9/2016. It therefore wouldn't be newsworthy just yet, but assume they will say more in the upcoming Quarterly Report.
The recent Annual Report did, however, give quite a bit of information on the barite project - p18 to p20 - including ...... "A bulk sample of 60kg of barite sample material was tested by an independent laboratory ALS (Optimet) in Adelaide in early September 2015".......and..........."The results of preliminary test work to date confirm that material from Mount James 5 will produce API drilling grade barite"
The Mount James barite project is located near Leigh Creek and as AXE mentioned, it's suited to possibly supplying the nearby Cooper Basin drilling.
This new ELA is located in the Flinders Ranges and ideally positioned near the Ceduna Sub‐Basin - the off shore oil exploration province in the Great Australian Bight, where the likes of ASX listed KAR was recently awarded a EPP permit and where other industry heavyweights such as BP, Statoil and Chevron have already committed approx A$1 billion to drilling.
