Barnaby will be the single biggest own goal by the Nats.. Barnaby acts like the farming community somehow exist in isolation from the rest of society except when there's a drought, then all of a sudden they become citizens in need.. The rest of the time they are above the law and beyond the scrutiny of both the Govt and it's regulatory departments and the Australian people who are co custodians of the environment.. They kick and scream against any form of investigation or analysis of their activities and they treat their property as some kind of exclusive sovereign country.. except when there is a drought, then they suddenly get marketed as the good gentle neighbour, who's fallen on bad times.. Isn't it amazing how they change when times are good..

I don't have anything against agriculture but let's get real about the tax exemptions, the offsets, the excises, etc etc that we subsidise agriculture with

Big agriculture is about exploiting every possible loophole and resource available as soon as possible and with as little scrutiny as possible... Take Barnaby's immediate attack on the Murray Darling basin plan as an example.. they don't want environmental flow they just want to drain the system to within an inch of it's life and screw anything or anyone that lives downstream..

That is the reality and the Australian people know it..

Big Agriculture, the Nats, the Neo Cons, will be the first to carp about welfare and assistance to other Australians yet they are perhaps one of the biggest beneficiaries of Australian welfare and preferred tax treatment

Sick of their worn out story and the stick in the mud Neo values they spruke because they don't represent the people of the regions they just represent big agriculture and it's many vested interests

If they really wanted to help the regions, they would be more focused on renewables, getting accomodation and conditions improved for farm workers, transport to and from the regions and sustainable farming practices..
