This is a continuation of a thread I created when Barrick started discussing details on Senegal/Bambadji in their quarterly reports. The last report is from early August. I will start with what I found most significant, one clear sentence I highlight below, spoken by Mark Bristow during his quarterly presentation (this is from the transcript):
"The Loulo District remains a highly prospective one. Work on the Bambadji joint venture and the Senegal east side of the border continues. And over the past 2 exploration seasons, we have screened a vast 40-kilometer long area.We believe there is a high potential for a material new discovery or series of discoveries, and we are seeking to consolidate an even larger land position in the district.Across the river, there is an intensified focus on extending the exploration targets to replace mine reserve depletion at both Gounkoto and Loulo." from: https://seekingalpha.com/article/4447391-barrick-gold-corp-gold-ceo-mark-bristow-on-q2-2021-results-earnings-call-transcript
It is exciting to have confirmation that Barrick will be looking to acquire nearby land (whether this is Diamba Sud or other properties).
