As of 1st January, 2023, gold became a tier 1 asset. This was declared by the Bank for International Settlements in 2018. Since then central banks have been increasing gold reserves hand over fist because a country's wealth will be equal to the number of tonnes they posses. Therefore like REE, gold in the ground will be a strategic asset. BlackRock and Vanguard own the world and will takeover any worthwhile assets. I think DEG will be an asset worth owning.
