While I acknowledge your point about electoral libaility with female voters, what is of concern to me is the underlying 'modis operandi' that Tony Abbott has asserted would have been uncharacteristic of him.
Abbott's behaviour during his university days has become topical in the media and if he is now trying to deny what some allege is reality that is another thing altogether.
Following the manner in which Tony Abbott's Coalition has pursued the past of Peter Slipper, Craig Thompson and Julia Gillard; the spotlight is now on Tony Abbott.
What is really at issue is not so much whether Abbott behaved agressively etc. during his university days; but how he is behaving as Opposition Leader and how that would translate to his demeanour as PM.
