Ambassador seeks new green partners in pivot from Russia
The German ambassador to Australia has described WA as the “heart chamber” of national ambitions to remake the country as a “renewable superpower” — a transition he believes is crucial to reducing global reliance on both China and Russia.
Speaking at the end of his first official visit to Perth, Markus Ederer said green hydrogen and critical minerals — including lithium, copper and nickel — presented opportunities for Germany and WA to forge new and enduring trade connections.
