Well this is as bad a case of whitewashing history as you can get.
Edmond Barton was the person who instituted the white Australia policy;
So you were welcome to become Australian...as long as you were white.
Doesn't matter your ancestors had been here for 65,000 years. To Barton, if you weren't white you were not Australian.
