yak, Bashir's ambition is to create a pan-Asian Islamic state. This is contrary to the wishes of the vast majority of Indonesian citizens and the Indonesian government. In order to implement his plan he has to destabilise the government, his enemy, and cause a loss of confidence in it both domestically and abroad. By virtue of the Bali, Marriot and Kuninghan bombings he crippled Megawati's presidency. Loss of confidence and pressure from overseas played it's part in bringing her down. That is exactly what the bombers set out to achieve and we responded willingly ensuring that it all played out into their hands
